A simple backyard wedding surrounded by their friends and family was the right style for Hope & Josh; shoes optional.
I’ve known Hope’s family for quite a few years now through the church and they have been nothing less than supportive and wonderful to me. I was SO happy that Hope insisted on using me as their photographer to capture their celebration. A budding photographer herself, she has followed my work since being a teenager and it was humbling to know she really wanted me to be there to capture what they’ve created.
We met a few months previous at Leo Carrillo State Beach to capture their engagement photos… which were a bit different. They were “outdoorsy” to say the least, so their ideal spot is camping at the beach. So that’s the context I got them in:
The ceremony and reception took place in a large backyard of a friend in the Santa Rosa Valley They got ready at nearby Gerry Ranch which provided the perfect open orchard backdrop for their first look…
We then return to the backyard for the ceremony at sunset
And then the music started and people started dancing. The small twinkle lights provided a perfect setting for a warm summer evening, socializing and dancing in a large country backyard:
Hope and Josh were high school sweethearts who braved distance and hard times, only to let God put them here together on this earth to be together. I truly hope your marriage is blessed and many happy memories await you.
