Ventura Harbor in the marina provided the ideal location for a romantic sunset wedding, turned dance party.
A few years ago I was fortunate enough to photograph the engagement, wedding, and newborn photos for Travis & Jacklyn, only to be asked to photograph her sister Meghann’s wedding a couple weekends ago. Meg’s concept was simple: An outdoor ceremony at the harbor, with a crazy party right afterwards in a tent filled full of tequila and dance music. They not only got that, but an epic sunset for photos as well.
I absolutely DARE you to look through these photos and not say this was a fun, crazy night. DARE you to not see how in love they are and DARE you to think this party didn’t go until past midnight! I’ve been doing weddings a long time, but I honestly don’t remember when a dance floor was so completely packed for HOURS at a time. No one could cut through the dance floor at any time, and there was craziness all around. Needless to say, there were plenty of laughs that night, and Advil in the morning…. just the way it should be.
They got ready separately at the same hotel, and had love notes passed to each other before they got ready…
The ceremony and reception were in the middle of the grassy area next to Blackbeard’s BBQ Café, with a large event tent setup for the reception. We had free reign over the entire area and boy did we use it.
And then the party started. And I had to leave at around 11pm, but this party was going until probably Thursday.
Special thanks to the other vendors who helped make this wedding happen.
