Lucia & Shane got married on the beach at sunset and then danced the night away 20 floors over the city of Ventura at the Crown Plaza. And there was twerking
Lucia’s friend April found me and helped hire me for this wedding, and she did an amazing job pulling things together. By the time I got to the bride’s room, all their hair, makeup and dresses were on. I wasn’t late, rather, they were all ready. Let me tell you, that rarely happens. But that allowed us extra time to get good shots, and not stress about being late for anything.
The Crown Plaza in Ventura is a venue I’ve captured many weddings at. Great quality beach out in front and amazing spot at the top of the skyscraper overlooking the city for the reception. The staff there also is very vendor-friendly (thanks for the chicken chibatta sandwich!).
The weather was perfect (ie no wind), and we only had one fat guy cross behind the ceremony which was something I have been dreaming about for a while. So yeah, of course I added that too. “Oh, don’t put that photo up there of him…” Well, he’s the one that’s shirtless, thats his problem.
But back to the romance, the enchantment, and the surprise ending.
So at 10:30pm I told Lucia, “Okay, time is up. Any other last-minute photos you’d like me to capture?” She says, “YES! Go get a photo of my friend __________ twerking!”. YOU GO IT. Love it when I end on a high-note.
Hopefully see you guys soon. Thanks so much for being prepared, being fun, and inviting some amazing people to your wedding! I hope our paths cross again soon
